Antisana Ecological Reserve reaches elevations close to 4,000 meters (13,120 ft) above sea level. Spending one or two days acclimatizing in Quito before the tour is highly recommended.

Weather conditions can change rapidly throughout the day. Visitors should be prepared for sunshine, wind, cold temperatures and occasional rain.

We recommend bringing layered warm clothing, a waterproof jacket, comfortable hiking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, a hat and a camera or binoculars for wildlife observation.

Wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed, although Antisana is considered one of Ecuador's best destinations for observing the Andean Condor.
